I SAW THE MOST UNEXPECTED SCENE OF MY LIFE.

Just imagine, you are very eager for your life time trip and when u reach the bus it is very silent without any sound and you can't even see your friends. Yes, as you all imagined at that time my heart beat was like a 100 meter athlete. I opened the curtain with trembling hands and saw the scene. As soon as I opened the curtain everyone shouted "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANJAY". That moment only I remembered that day as MY BIRTHDAY. Yes, they all had planned a surprise for me. I forgot my birthday in the tour excitement. Now only I remember mom made PAAYASAM in morning. But, why no one wished me in home too??? But, I was not able to laugh or think anything. I was in shock until Sanjana and Santosh came near me and shook my hand. Everyone was sitting around the cake waiting for me to open the curtain of the bus. Even they had included the bus driver in this play. They took me to the cake and everyone sang the 'Happy Birthday' song.

Now I had no words for them. I was unable to say thanks too. I was dumb struck. Sanwir wiped my wet eyes and gave me the knife to cut the cake. I thanked everyone and took the first piece of the cake.

'First piece to whom?' Aishwarya asked me in a sarcastic tone.

'Who else? Obviously Sanjana!!!!' Priya answered in witty voice and the girls started to giggle. I saw Sanjana and she came near me. She took another piece and gave it to me and she had the first one from me.

'I think there is no harm in taking the first piece of cake from my best friend.' She told the girls and wished me again. This is the one thing really I like in her. She always does what her mind feels. She won't do anything for others. To be frank, she is the first girl whom I felt as "BHRATHIYIN PUTHUMAI PEN". My mobile rang and I came to conscious. The call is from my home.

'Hey Sanjay, MANY MANY HAPPY RETURNS OF THE DAY. Your friends called yesterday evening and told us about the surprise and requested us not to wish you in morning. Sorry Sanjay'. My dad wished me.

'Thanks dad. Everyone really shocked me with this. It is really great!!' After dad, mom and Ajay wished me. Mom told me about the sweets in my bag and asked me to give it to my friends. As soon as the call is over, 'Machi, when is the treat?!' Maama Ram sorry sorry Raja Ram asked me from my behind. He is called as "MAAMA RAM" by everyone in the campus of our college. He is the guy around whom the whole laughter will take place. He will talk very seriously, but everyone will laugh when he is serious. The main reason is his appearance and costumes. He will completely shave his face and always have a round "santhana pottu" in the centre of his forehead, he also will have a "kumkum" in the centre of the santhana pottu. He will comb his hair neatly by applying gel. The most important factor is the way he carries his bag. He will always bring a leather kind of bag under his arms. Not only his bags, he also took his certificate file under his arms to the interview. His interview session itself was a great EVENT for the whole college. He went to the interview with his file under his arms. Seeing that the placement officer took the file from him and told him

'Don't carry file under your arm. It is not decency. Carry them in your hands.'

'Sir, I feel very comfortable carrying like this. I cannot change my position for anyone.' Maama ram told and started to walk. Hearing this placement officer got fear and he himself carried the file for him till the interview panel. But, interview is not about just carrying file! After the usual 'tell me about you', seeing the resume the interviewer asked him

'In which school you studied your 10^th standard?'

'In Seshadri Vidya Mandir.' Maama answered with a serious tone.

'Where is it?' still keeping his eyes on the resume.

Maama got up from his seat and went near the interviewer and dragged the file to his end a little and pointed his finger on the resume and said 'Here it is.' After saying this Maama came to his seat and sat with his usual serious face.

Interviewer, '!?!?!?!'

After some 3 minutes interviewer came to normal and made himself ready to ask his questions.

'Are you comfortable with technical questions?'

'Yes.'

'Which is your area of interest?'

'Well, my area of interest is ADAYAR!!!!' Maama answered on a very very serious look now.

The interviewer came to the front of his seat and asked' 'WHAT?!?!?!' Now Maama was very cool and told 'Yes, it is a great place to be frank. You can get anything in and around Adayar. Even Besant Nagar beach is very near to Adayar.' Maama became a brand ambassador for Adayar.

'Could you please stop it!!!. I asked about you area of interest in your studies. Your favorite subject!!' The interviewer face became red.

'Oh, ok ok. My favorite is Electronic Circuits.' Maama was very cool and serious too.

'OK. What are the two types of transistors?'

'Well, the types are trans YOUNGER SISTER and trans ELDER SISTER!!!!!' Maama told in a serious voice and with the cool look of course. That was the last question from that person to Maama and we hope that was the last question from him to anyone else.

'Sanjay, the journey is about to begin da. Come let's get settled.' Sania called me and everyone started to settle among ourselves. At this point I have to tell about our gang. We are 6 people and our gang name is

SANs

Yes, we 6 are SANjay, SANTtosh, SANwir, SANjana, SANdya and SANia. We are not even friends from school days. We all met in our second semester lab only. We 6 were formed into a group accidentally. From there we are together. I, Sanwir and Sanjana are the naughtiest of our gang. Santosh won't talk much, he will always have his statements in crisp. Sanwir is a good cricket player and he is part of our college cricket team. Sandya is basketball and throw-ball player and she also represented our college in those events. I and Sanjana were the members of college literary club. During our final year we were the main coordinators for the club activities. Santosh is the drums player in our college musical band. Sania is the brainy of our gang, not only our gang in the whole department she is the brainy. She tops the department in all the exams. She usually plays chess and carom only (brain games). She is the one who teaches us during the exams. We all will study together during exams in anyone's home. Mostly we will study in my home. Since I am from outer part of Chennai, all will come to my home like a vacation.

Sandya is a kind of boyish. Her hair cut and her mannerisms will be like a boy. Sania is the baby of the gang. She will believe everything you tell. Very innocent and calm. Sanwir is the Romeo of the whole college. He will always try to impress girls. Usually he will try to impress senior girls. He won't accept Sandya as a girl itself. But, Sandhya likes him a lot. According to her he is her best friend and a person more than that. Sania is a diehard fan of Santosh and she is his first critique too. After every performance Santosh will just see Sania and after her comments only he will smile. I and Sanwir usually go together for sighting. During the fresher joining day we will become the volunteers for the girls side.

We all settled in the seats and now Sanwir became very bright. The reason is simple, everyone sat down and only the seat near Sanwir was empty and Neha is still standing. Neha is the most beautiful girl on earth (according to Sanwir only). She will be good looking, but, too much of makeup and style. So, most of the guys will look at her like a costly Race bike. Everyone wants to see the bike but only a few will think of owning it. Sanwir was one among those few. Neha came close to the seat and Sanwir gave her a romantic look (remember Koundamani's romantic look). He closed his eyes and got ready for the travel with Neha.

She sat near him and said 'Hi.'

She held his hands in her hands. She touched his face with her fingers.

'Hey Sanwir, leave my hands!!! Are you seeing palmistry for me??' Sandya asked in a strange voice.

Sanwir opened his eyes in a shock and searched for Neha. She was sitting in the parallel seat along with Priya.

Then only he realized that as a dream. 'Why you came here? Neha was about to sit here!' Sanwir asked in a low angry voice to Sandya.

'She only asked me to sit here. You were sleeping that time. So only you did not notice that.'

'Damn it. I didn't sleep. I was dreaming about her.' Sanwir gave a look like poet Vairamuthu.

'Oh. I confirmed one long time doubt now'.

'What is that?' Sanwir asked in a very eager voice.

'You are not HALF MENTAL, you are a FULL MENTAL!' Sandya said that and we all laughed at Sanwir. But, Sanwir was still looking at Neha with the same ROMANTIC LOOK.

Santosh and Sania started to talk, no Sania started to talk and Santosh was just nodding his head as usual.

I and Sanjana started to plan some mischievous stuff to keep everyone awake. The main specialty in our gang is there is nothing called boys talk or girls talk, we had guys talk only. Generally, we will discuss everything within the gang. Now Sanwir called me and Sanjana from behind and told us the tour plan again.

Directly the bus goes to Cumbum in Theni district. There we all will bath in 'Suruli Falls' and after breakfast we start to a place called 'Kulamaavu' near 'Idukki Dam' in Kerela. We had seen the pictures of the place and it seems to be a great natural gift to the mankind. There we are staying for two nights and a day. After that we are moving on to other places.

Sanwir wanted to bring a cheer among everyone. So he suggested playing Dumb-C in the travel.

Sandya said 'ok let's play that.'

'Ya, it will be good too.' I accepted Sanwir's idea.

'But, let's play antakshari now and can play Dumb-C after we finish our dinner in Vilupuram.' Sania said and Neha said 'OK' for that. So, as you all expected Sanwir said 'Ya, that's a great idea.' And Sandya also said the same. I and Sanjana became Romans in this Rome. We all started with the game. There will be two teams. The first 8 rows from one team and the rest form the other team.

Neha started the game with the song 'Lesa Lesa....'

'Oh God, what a great singer she is!!' Sanwir exclaimed with his mouth open.

'Sanwir, could you please close the waterfalls from your mouth.' Sandya told and closed his mouth with her hands. 'She is singing good, but not so great.' She added more.

'You are Self-centered and conservative.' Sanwir sarcastically told her and continued to watch Neha.

'Why should I be conservative?' Sandya asked herself. But the answer was a few drops of tears from her eyes. She wiped off them without letting others know that.

The songs continued to flow and everyone became S.P.B, Hariharan, Shankar Mahadevan, Sujatha, Janaki and many more singers in the mean time. We all had our dinner at vilupuram with laughs and fun. We boarded the bus again to continue the travel and started playing Dumb-C as per Sanwir's idea. He tried a lot to talk with Neha and to sit near her. But, it all went in vain. The bus was full of fun and entertainment. With all the sounds and laughter the bus was going at an 80 Km/hr over the Cauvery Bridge at 1 a.m. in the morning.

My First Experience with AC Bus...

It was a Sunday during the final year of my college. The study holidays (which doesn’t go as per the name at all) time of the 8th semester. There was a feel for most of us that the exams were already over.We never had the thought of studying as do most of the college students. Infact study holidays is not meant for that. ;) So, We decided to go to one of our friend's home .Three of us went from our college in Omr to our friend's home in vadapalani.
We ate well there as we usually do anywhere.. ;) and then we started around 4 in the evening. And after that was what all happened.
We went to the bus stop over there. We were waiting..waiting..waiting!!!!No signs of any bus thru our college route was there. That time it started drizzling. The weather was very great. But we were not in a position to enjoy that. The long wait made us so. And suddenly we were greatly relieved to see one bus for which we were waiting so long. But as most of the buses in Chennai do, the bus dint stop where it had to. It stopped a little away from the stop. For many, It is still a matter of awe and wonder ,why many buses don’t stop in places meant for it. THE BUS STOPS!!! :)
We saw many people running and fighting to get into the bus. In fact people were waiting so long. Some even before we reached the stop. We started walking fast to board that bus. We realized we had to run but our running went in vain. When we went near we found people hanging in the footsteps and the bus nearly started moving. Oh!!!We missed the bus..We had no idea when the next bus will come. We were just standing there thinking what to do next. That time we saw an AC bus coming at a distance. The three of us just looked at each other and smiled. In fact all of us thought the same. We wanted to travel in that after a long tiring wait. We had not been in an ac bus earlier. That was also another reason for the thought :) So we suddenly decided to get into that and ran quickly and boarded the bus.(We dint want to miss this like the other :) )We were very eager to get a place there and to be seated. There were three seats in the last row. As in classes, even here, it is the same last row :)We went and sat there very comfortably and then suddenly realized....That none of us knew where the bus was heading .!!! :D We couldn’t control laughing. We started laughing aloud thinking how we just got into the bus. And then suddenly we became silent. Reason being, The conductor was coming towards us.:) We dint know what to tell him. Two people in front of us started laughing looking at us. We feel happy when see someone laughing(in the sense happy :)) because of us ;) (This is one way of hiding our... cannot say it as embarrassment but comedy time ;) ) And then the conductor understood our position and he asked with a smile whether we wanted to go to guindy. May be he could have thought that was a common place and we can go where we wanted to from there. We had no other option other than saying yes. We were little shocked to see the ticket rate too. That is why it is so called the AC BUS!! :)We checked our purses to see whether we had money to reach hostel. ;) Thank God!!We did have. :) Even after getting the ticket we continued with our fun and laughter as if nothing happened.(Valikaatha maathiriye nadipom la ;) :) ).And then our stop came. Even when we were getting down the two people saw us and were smiling. If we were in their position, We would have laughed even more ;) We got down very coolly and started smiling seeing each other and giving a look which meant...vaazkayila ithellam sagachamappa.(Meaning:All this is common in life) :)And then from there we got a bus to our college and reached hostel. We felt like we had a small funny adventure.(Adventure!!..Surely not :) )
I still don’t know to which place the bus was towards..We never minded to see it after getting down. :)

Anyway the bus will come here by 5.30 only.

Why do you want to go to By-Pass by 3.30 itself?

That too in this MAY sun. You are frying me in this hot sun. All my fate!!!!',

My brother Ajay was scolding me, no literally he was cursing me like anything.

But, how can he know the excitement and happiness I have in waiting for the bus. He is just in his 12^th grade. He will also have the same excitement after 5 years, while going for his final tour with his college class mates. Yesterday only our final year exams got over. We had planned this trip an year before itself. So, lots of dreams and excitement.

'Hey Ajay, you won't understand this. You will understand this only when you feel this. Even though the bus comes here by 5.30, it starts at 3.30 and all my class mates would have started the journey together now. Now, the whole bus will be full of song and fun.'

'Hmmm, my excitement jumps up a great height when I think about that enjoyment.'

He was staring at me like a furious tiger seeing its prey, my SHORT explanation may had tested his patience. We started to walk out of the house to start the bike for our travel to By-Pass, where I was going to go for my life time trip.

I heard my mobile playing 'Oru Maalai Ila Veyil neram' and saw the caller name in the display. The display said it was Santhosh. I and Santhosh are like two sides of a coin. We don't have anything in common except our friendship. He is my best friend and we used share everything between us. I picked the call,

'Hey Santhosh, wats up da? Where are you guys? I am really excited to meet you all. I am unable to sit in my home.'

'Hey Machi, just now the bus started and we are on the way. I hope this will be a great trip. I will call you again after crossing Tambaram. Note down the bus number. It will be easy for you to stop it.'

'Ya, just a minute Santhosh'

'Hey Ajay bring me a piece of paper.'

Ajay gave me a paper in 15 seconds. 'Santhosh, tell the number now.'

'TN15 A 3500. Note it carefully and stop the bus if the driver misses you. Anyways we will surely stop the bus machi. See you soon dude.'

With that statement he cut the call and I saw the number. The paper was an A4 type and I turned the paper and it was an extra copy my resume's front page. The resume I gave for my CAMPUS interview.

It is always a proud feeling to see your resume some months after your Placements. I too got the same feeling. I started reading the front page of my resume with full pride.

While reading the resume, that moment came to my mind. That moment is always a great one to cherish. It was the selected candidates list announcing time. After a looooong day they finally came to the end of the first campus day of our college's campus drive. Our college placement officer started to announce the results of selected candidates for 'Cognizant'. The crowd was very much excited and tensed like the people waiting before theatre counter from morning 6 AM for first day SUPER STAR film. The names were being called and no one was from EEE yet. All faces were much tensed and I started to walk back with lost hope. At that very moment, I heard Placement officer calling 'Sanjay Maniraja from EEE'. My name was the first to be called from my department. Still I think that moment as a dream. Santhosh is the one who pulled me from behind and pushed me to walk to the group of placed candidates. Before I reach the group Santhosh's name was also called and we were out of the world for some time.

'Sanjay, have this money. Take care of health. Don't eat junk foods.' My mom's words brought me back to earth from that dream. (A typical Mother.)

That is really true, Mother is the only person who cares about you more than anything in this world.

'Sanjay, be safe. Don't try any adventures. Friends will say you as a hero. Do not get over enthusiastic and get in to trouble.' My dad advised with a little strictness in his speech. (A typical father.)

'I am not kid anymore, dad. I am 22 and I can take care of me.' (A typical youth dialogue.)

'But you are always a kid for us Sanjay. I and dad will always say good for you. Always remember that we both are living for you and Ajay only. So, go safe and come safe Sanjay.' My mom told and I can see some tears on her eyes while completing the sentence.

After this 'TELE – SERIAL' events, me and Ajay took bike and started to the By-Pass. Chenagalpattu By-Pass, this is not like other By-Pass roads. You can see a lot of vehicles on this road day and night. In morning, you can see many amateur SHUMACHERs' practicing their driving schools cars and as the day passes you can see a lot of lorries with sand from the 'PALAR' river.

While going in bike or any vehicle I only drive the vehicle. According to me there is no thrill in sitting behind and watch others ride. I won't ride very fast but I love and enjoy my own driving. I was recalling all my memories from college days and cherishing within my mind without knowing the upcoming danger. We reached the By-Pass.

'Ajay, it is really hot na.' I told and looked at my brother. He was hotter than the 38 ⁰C sun. It was 5.15 PM and I guessed they could have crossed Tambaram.

I thought Santhosh should call now and saw my mobile. The screen displayed Santhosh's name as he called at that very moment. I was very happy and attended the call and said 'Santhosh'. But the opposite end was very silent. I couldn't even hear the vehicles passing by and the sound from the bus. I again said 'Santhosh'. Now, I could hear a husky voice from the other end. I was calling his name repeatedly, but no response. I cut the call and thought that there must be some network problem and called Santhosh's mobile. Now it said "Switched off".

'Hey, it is really a bad network yar.' I told myself and tried some of my class mates. Rajeev, Akshay, Gopi, Venkat, Devi and Aishwarya. All mobiles said "SWITCHED OFF".

I am not sure what had happened. I started worrying about them. But, the later part of my cerebrum told me that 'No problem dude, they are safe and they will be trying to play with you'.

I turned towards Ajay and told him the matter. It was 5.35 PM and at that time Ajay pointed to a distant object. I turned back to see the object.

It was "TN15 A 3500" and they finally came. I really got excited and waved my hands towards the bus. The bus stopped 15 meters in front of the place I was standing.

I took my luggage and told 'TATA Ajay, tell parents that I got bus safely. I will get some goods for you from there.'

After telling this I started running towards the bus. It was a KPN deluxe bus. It was a type of bus everyone could have seen while travelling to some distant places. A typical deluxe type.

I thought my friends will jump out of it and will make a great noise by shouting around me. But, it was the opposite. There was a pin drop silence in and around the bus. The whirling wind was making sound in my years. I stopped some distance before the bus and walked slowly. I saw the bus door was open. I could hardly see any faces through the windows. I neared the bus. The driver was not there. Something in me was telling that everything is wrong here.

I entered into the bus. I moved the curtain that was closing the entrance into the seating area of the bus. There,

PROVIDING POLLUTED DRINKING WATER

It was a shock to read news in the New Indian Express dt.13.05.09, Madurai edition. P.No.5. that the Block Development Officer and Tahsildar who are personally responsible to provide clean and protected drinking water, failed to pump out the decontaminating polluted water source in Keeelmorappur village in Harur Taluk. So the residents pumped out the polluted water from the overhead water tanks themselves.

One of the main and legitimate duties of the government is “providing protected drinking water to the people”. But the officials who are running the government machinery have not realized the importance of their duties. Really it is matter of serious concern.

Tamilnadu SSLC(10th) Results Analysis

The SSLC results for the year 2009 have come. 81.6% of the students who wrote the examination have passed this year.

Jose Regin of St.Marys school, Kanyakumari has got 496 for 500 and is the State topper. Five students have scored State second mark, 495. Three students have scored the State Third Mark, 494.

This Year, 5112 Students have scored Centum in Maths. The Pass Percent is 84 percent for girls and 79 for boys. Last year,the pass percent of boys was 77.8 and for girls it was 83.9. For Matriculation Examination,the pass percent is 94 and for Anglo-Indian exam it is 95.9.

Engineering Admissions

Hi Guys! Plus 2 Exams results have just been published. Passing percentage was recorded as 83 this year. As usual girls did better than boys. The most important and interesting thing was that top scorers are from small towns and villages and not from urban schools.

Mostly students would prefer admissions in engineering colleges. Care should be taken in choosing an Engineering college. More attractive ads are seen in the Medias. It is always better to visit the college and personally ascertain the required particulars viz. the history of the college, recognition, well equipped library, laboratory, qualified faculties, passing percentage, placement facilities, transport facilities, hostel facilities, canteen facilities, sport and game facilities, availability of bank, post office, and cooperative store etc.

Choosing a good college is primary and course is secondary. Or, course is primary and college is secondary. Placement arena is more competitive. So, more marks needed irrespective of subject chosen.

The Tamilnadu SSLC (10th standard) results are expected to arrive by 9 am on 23-May-2009.

He is dead... Finally the news has been confirmed and the dead body of the "Tiger" had been identified. The Srilankan Army released the Picture today.

The fight for many decades had come to an end.

The Sri - Lankans are celebrating for this victory. But, really it is this man's victory. Who nearly created a nation for TAMILS.

Previously his son was killed by the Army and the Picture had been released. Many stories was revolving aroung this end of Prabhakaran. But, on the whole the battle was over.

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a fewbillion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests areunable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental,food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow,gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes likeNutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molassesbut only in very sma ll amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk andsubstituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather thanbeef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkalineenvironment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reachdown to cellular levels within 15 minutes to no urish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells tryand drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed attemperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties.Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrifiedand leads to more toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls ofcancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable thebody's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. As seen from the report of RBI the Indian Economy is still in a mood of puzzle. India`s Industrial output has come down to a low economic downturn which is uncommon in the past 15 years. Another unhappy report has come out from the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) that India’s industrial growth rate shrank by 2.3% in March09 as against it was 5.5% in the same period last year. It is a matter of serious concern.

The production side, particularly the metal and alloys have shown a deep deceleration which leads to sluggishness in the investment markets. It is a matter to be worried. Therefore, our Prime Minister Dr. Manmohansingh had a serious discussion with key economist in the meeting held on 12-May-09. The meeting was concluded with a positive note that the announcement of the Government in reducing the banking lending rate would push the investment in large and thereby make the Indian Economy steady. Let us also be hopeful.

But why only a few people do this. What about the others. One basic reason for that is the fear of facing failure. We have to realize that whether we are succeeding or not is not the consideration. The important thing is we making the attempt. There surely will be pleasure after pursuing our dreams.

Whatever may be the case say like starting a new business or learning something new in any field or even proposing a person u like. Just go with what your heart feels. When there is a burning desire there surely is all chances for success to follow but only when u go for it.

Our life is something very precious. We have to realize the value of life. It is necessary that we make our life worth living. We have to realize our dreams and work towards achieving them. Even though we desire a particular thing many of them don’t go behind it due to various reasons like acting according to some other person's wish or not having enough courage to carry on. Say for example, a person has got the desire to do a particular course but the person takes some other courses according to others wish; it will surely turn out to be a total failure.

Just believe that

“In this world Everything is Possible except the word ‘Impossible’ ”

We have to realize that each and every person has got his/her own individuality and his/her own likes and dislikes. So everyone must be able to think on their own and act according to the wishes of their heart.

India - A democratic Country, But unable to VOTE

It is the Election Day and people all over the country are very interested in casting their vote in order to select people of their choice. But some people have been deprived of their Voting Rights.

This is what happened in an area in Chennai on the day of POLL.

This person after verifying his name in the list obtained the name slip from the booth agent. And then when he went to the polling booth , he was not allowed to cast his vote .The presiding officer in the polling booth did not allow him to cast his vote saying his name was in the Shifted and Dead Voters List.

And this is what the person said..

“How my name got included in that list is still a wonder because I am residing in the same area from June, 2008 and till date it is not certain whether anyone came to the residence for checking. But they have marked the name in the Shifted and Dead Voters List. Though my name is there in the electoral roll and I have the the Electors Photo Identity Card(EPIC) the name slip, I am not able to vote.”

This issue is prevalent in some other places too.

Another issue faced by some people is the names in the EPI card are not proper. It is specified correctly in Tamil but a completely different name is mentioned in English. When people ask about this in the Taluk office, they are asking to enroll again during the time of inclusion. They fail to check properly at the time of issuing the card. The Election Department is giving Rs.15 for each individual to the agency preparing the EPIC. If proper checking is made and a correct card is given the first time itself lot of money need not be wasted in issuing the card again. Since they are insisting on Photo Identity card to show residential proof for many things today like for getting a new telephone connection or opening a bank account and many such similar things, Election Department should take essential care to issue the EPIC in proper manner.

Many other victims like this have been deprived of their voting rights due to the irresponsibility of a few. Whose fault is this!!!!

Will the responsible authorities take proper actions to avoid such things in future!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the Election Commission have any answer for these people queries?

This is really a social problem.

Voting is every Indian Citizen's Right. Every individual has the duty in selecting proper leaders for our Nation. Let us hope that the corresponding authorities take proper steps to avoid such Issues in future so that each and every Indian Citizen makes use of their Voting Rights and work towards a Better India.

May 13, 2009 - Wednesday, is really a big day in Tamilnadu. The Parliament Election is going to be held on this day. This is a kind of battle for all the Parties here. The main motive is just not winning the elections, apart form that the pride and prestige of both the state and the central Ruling parties matters a lot. This is also a big day for the people in this state to select their representatives for the country.

The votes can be a deciding factor for selecting the suitable person for the post to develop our nation. It is not only our right to vote, it is our duty to vote. It is our duty to select the perfect person to shape our country. Use your rights in a proper way, so that you do something for the nation.

Many people says,"Why should I vote? No one is perfect, so I will not vote." As the question goes, others may not be perfect, so you try to be perfect and do your duty as the citizen of this Sub-continent.

This can be given by a simple example,

For the past one year or so many people was talking about the "World Economic meltdown” and the effects due to that. Even there were many Layoffs and terminations from jobs. This happened in all countries and even in India. According to world economists’ predictions, India should not had had come into the recession effect. But, due to many mistakes by every one of us India entered into this crisis. The share markets became very low and low. So, due to this people started to sell their shares and started to invest in GOLD. Due to this the gold rates went up like Indian summer temperature ;) :)

But now, the share market started to increase, even the inflation rates have became low due to government’s anti-inflatory measures ;) ;).

But, the main question among many people in India is,

“Is this change in Indian economy temporary? (i.e.) only for elections?”

The answer is “Yes” in many parts of the nation.

So, in this I just want to share a piece of information I got through people. The information is after elections the Layoffs and terminations will be more if the answer for the question is “yes”. Even the more stabled and economically strong companies are planning to implement this. Moreover, the economic plans of OBAMA had made many U.S. based companies to think a lot.
So, I request the people reading this to think well and make their positions stable. This all depends on the elections too. So, use your votes correctly and intelligently. This is no way an election campaign. But, the future of India is not only in the politicians hands. So, we should take care of our nation.

Pocket-sized Offspring

Kangaroos occupy their own little pocket in the animal world, being the largest living marsupial, and also members of an order that is typified by big feet. There are three varieties of kangaroos: the red, the Eastern Grey, and the Western Grey, all native to the continent of Australia. The male red kangaroo is the largest, sometimes growing to six feet in height. Kangaroos with feet less than ten inches long, are commonly referred to as wallabys.

All kangaroos are possessed of short forelegs with clawed paws that are used for handling their food, and very long back feet at the end of powerful hind legs which are used for hopping/jumping, the kangaroo's only method of locomotion. Their most interesting feature is the pouch on the female's belly. After a very short pregnancy, around 35 days, the partially developed fetus is birthed, and uses its front feet to crawl into the pouch, where it remains for up to ten months. It latches onto a teat, which swells in response, effectively jamming the baby's mouth so that it can't let go. At about a month they develop the muscle structure to open their mouth and remove it from the teat.

It is thought that this early birthing and subsequent development in the pouch, is what allows kangaroos to be pregnant most of the time. For a female can carry a new fetus while the last one is still in the pouch. And while she can also arrest the new baby's development until the older offspring has left the pouch, her body is also capable of producing two different types of milk to satisfy the older "joey", and the newborn.

Was the Headless Chicken a "No-Brainer"?

Have you ever felt you were running around aimlessly, like a chicken with its head cut off? Well, in Fruita, Colorado, you can do that every year at the annual festival that honors Mike, the headless chicken!

Believe it or not, and many people don't, a Colorado farmer attempting to dispatch a chicken for dinner in 1945, ended up with one of the biggest non-hoaxes of the era, and a place in the Guinness World Book of Records for the headless chicken who survived the longest.

Lloyd Olsen had been sent out to the yard, to sacrifice a plump young rooster of about six months. And guess who was coming to dinner to eat it? His mother-in-law. Knowing how she favored the neck, Olsen went about his task with the idea of keeping on the mother in law's good side, by keeping most of the neck on the chicken. He succeeded in a way he'd never have expected in his wildest dreams.

When the chicken (who later became known as Mike, although nobody remembers why) was decapitated, he refused to lay down and die. While many birds slaughtered this way will appear to run around for a few seconds, it's actually a nerve/adrenalin response by the body, with no actual intent to escape. They drop down, and die. But not Mike.

He continued to run around the chicken pen. Olsen let him be, and the next morning, found Mike asleep with his "head" under his wing. Figuring that any bird who wanted to live that bad, was worth the work, he began feeding grain and water directly into the gullet through an eye dropper. When Mike was still alive a week later, Olsen packed him up, and drove him to the University of Utah, to explain the phenomenon.

Apparently the axe had severed the head above the brain stem, missing the jugular vein and leaving the entire brain, and one ear. A large clot had stayed any major bleeding, and the wound healed over, leaving the gullet open for feeding.

Not only did Mike live for another 18 months, but he grew to a creditable eight pounds, and became a national news story as well as a sideshow attraction. Mike went to that great chicken coop in the sky during a road trip in Arizona, when he began to choke in the middle of the night, and Olsen was unable to find the eyedropper with which they kept his throat cleared.

10 Steps for Boosting Creativity

	1.	Listen to music by Johann Sebastian Bach. If Bach doesn't make you more creative, you should probably see your doctor - or your brain surgeon if you are also troubled by headaches, hallucinations or strange urges in the middle of the night.

Brainstorm. If properly carried out, brainstorming can help you not only come up with sacks full of new ideas, but can help you decide which is best.

Always carry a small notebook and a pen or pencil around with you. That way, if you are struck by an idea, you can quickly note it down. Upon rereading your notes, you may discover about 90% of your ideas are daft. Don't worry, that's normal. What's important are the 10% that are brilliant.

If you're stuck for an idea, open a dictionary, randomly select a word and then try to formulate ideas incorporating this word. You'd be surprised how well this works. The concept is based on a simple but little known truth: freedom inhibits creativity. There are nothing like restrictions to get you thinking.

Define your problem. Grab a sheet of paper, electronic notebook, computer or whatever you use to make notes, and define your problem in detail. You'll probably find ideas positively spewing out once you've done this.

If you can't think, go for a walk. A change of atmosphere is good for you and gentle exercise helps shake up the brain cells.

Don't watch TV. Experiments performed by the JPB Creative Laboratory show that watching TV causes your brain to slowly trickle out your ears and/or nose. It's not pretty, but it happens.

Don't do drugs. People on drugs think they are creative. To everyone else, they seem like people on drugs.

Read as much as you can about everything possible. Books exercise your brain, provide inspiration and fill you with information that allows you to make creative connections easily.

Exercise your brain. Brains, like bodies, need exercise to keep fit. If you don't exercise your brain, it will get flabby and useless. Exercise your brain by reading a lot (see above), talking to clever people and disagreeing with people - arguing can be a terrific way to give your brain cells a workout. But note, arguing about politics or film directors is good for you; bickering over who should clean the dishes is not.

The Secret to Creativity

The secret to creative thinking is to start with good problems. Then you need to turn those problems into thought provoking challenges. After that, great ideas will almost invent themselves.

Almost every creative idea is a potential solution to a problem. Einstein's theory of relativity was about solving a discrepancy between electromagnetism and physics. Post-its were about finding a use for not very sticky glue. Picasso's cubist paintings were about solving the problem of representing three dimensional space on two dimensional canvases. And so on and so on.

Before you even think about generating ideas, you need to turn your problem into a challenge. Because if you start generating ideas to solve the wrong problem, you may have great ideas - but they will probably be lousy solutions.

A self-employed woman is window shopping and sees a beautiful dress. She thinks that it would be perfect for an upcoming reception where she hopes to impress prospective clients. Sadly, the dress costs €3000 and her bank account is nearly empty. She thinks to herself: "how could I earn €3000 in order to buy that dress?" She might come up with some great ideas.

But the truth is, her problem has nothing to do with the dress. Her problem is that she needs to develop new business. One way to do that is to acquire new clients. Wearing a stunning dress to a reception might be one method of solving that problem. But there are many more solutions - and a lot of them are probably more cost effective than a €3000 dress, particularly if she hasn't much money.

Instead, she should be asking herself: "How might I acquire new clients for my business?" or better still, "In what ways might I develop more business?"

The latter question or challenge might lead to ideas like offering existing clients new products or services; increasing her prices; asking for referrals and other activities that have very little to do with new dresses and a great deal to do with building her business.

Most people are like the woman in the story above. When they have problems, they immediately look for solutions, sparing nary a thought for the problem itself. Creative people know better. They start by examining the problem and turning it into a creative challenge.

The best way to get started on turning your problem into a challenge is by writing down your problem in the centre of a sheet of paper. Now, try and break the problem down. Ask yourself "Why is this a problem?", "What is causing this?", "What is behind this?", "What other issues are at stake?" and so on. Ask "why?" until you can no longer answer yourself. Write all of your answers on the sheet of paper. At this stage, the core problem as well as key relevant issues will be apparent. Let's call this the big problem.

The next step is to turn the big problem into one or more short, simple challenges. Challenges usually start with

· "In what ways might I/we...?"

· "How might I/we...?"

· "What kinds of... might I/we...?"

Keep your challenges as simple as possible. Avoid:

· Restrictive criteria
Restrictive criteria block open creativity. Leave them out of the challenge - but use those criteria later when it comes time to evaluate ideas.

· Combining two or more challenges in a single challenge.
Combining two or more issues in a single challenge (such as "how might we earn more income and work less?") tends to confuse brainstormers and results in ideas which fail to solve either problem. Best to divide such challenges into individual challenges and brainstorm one at a time. Start with the most important challenge first.

· Ambiguous challenges
A challenge such as "need money" isn't really clear and is likely to result in ideas that are not really clear. Make your challenges clear to everyone. And phrase them using the words above.

Once you have got your challenge, you will find it remarkably easy to generate ideas that solve it. But before you start brainstorming, there are a couple of things you should bear in mind..

· Generate ideas first. Nothing more. Only after you have finished generating ideas should you even think about reviewing them and decide which one(s) to implement.

· When generating ideas, whether alone or in a group, prohibit any criticism whatsoever. Moreover, it is essential that you make note of every idea no matter how silly, daft or impossible it may seem. The silliest ideas are sometimes the most creative and often highly inspirational.

· Do not stop at the first idea that comes to mind. The first good idea that comes to mind is seldom the most creative - largely because it is almost always the most obvious. Better to generate lots of ideas and then decide which ideas to choose.

Thus the secret to generating great ideas is to start with a great challenge. Then generate, generate, generate ideas.

I had this dream last night where I was a passenger on an airplane and somehow it came under attack. I don't know how it happened or anything, it's just being hijacked and everyone is in a lot of danger and there's widespread panic.
Well, a couple of other people and I rush the cockpit in an effort to take it back from the hijackers before anything bad can happen. There's gunfire and stuff and pretty soon I'm alone at the cockpit. I kick open the door and Oprah's flying the plane. I'm amazed and think she's saved the day. I say something like:
"Oprah, how'd you beat off the terrorists by yourself?"
And Oprah says, "It wasn't that hard. You can go back to your seat and I'll take it from here."
I believe her because I figure she must have her own plane and, hey – she's Oprah! But as I'm leaving I see the pilot on the ground and he's been shot in the head; but there aren't any bad guys around and I start to get suspicious. So I turn around to confront Oprah and she's pointing a gun at me!
"Back off," Oprah says. She's the leader of the hijackers!
I tell her I can't do that and we get in a tussle. I get the gun away from her and she sends the airplane into a dive, straight for the ground. So I grab her around the neck and start choking her until she goes limp.
I've killed Oprah!
Anyway, there's all this beeping noise from all the navigation instruments in the cockpit and so I push Oprah's body out of the seat and I start to fly the plane. It's in a tailspin and getting really close to the ground, so all I can do is slow it down. We end up crash-landing in some field and most people survive and walk away. And I'm left trying to explain to the authorities why Oprah's dead. They believe me - that I had to do it - but a lot of people were still upset I'd killed her. I keep telling them I didn't have a choice, that if I didn't do it we'd have all died.
The last part of my dream I remember is I'm walking down the road past a gas station ( I think it was a Shell), distraught I had to kill someone and I look up and there's Will Smith. And he asks:
"How's it going?"
And I say, "Not too good."
"Why not?"
"I killed Oprah."
Then Will got mad.
"But I had to. She was going to kill everyone on the plane. I didn't want to. She didn't give me a choice."
But Will still was all up in arms about it, so I just walked away as he yelled at me.

Disclaimer: For the record, I bear no malice towards Oprah. I don't watch her show and while I don't agree with some of her social views, I respect that she's self-made and think she's contributed to the betterment of society and helped a lot of people with her wealth.

India tightened the noose around Australia by setting a mammoth victory target of 516 runs before Harbhjan Singh struck twice to reduce the visitors to 50 for two at tea on the fourth day of the second cricket Test at Punjab Cricket Association stadium here Monday.

The off-spinner first trapped Matthew Hayden (29) leg before in the last over before tea and then got rid of Simon Katich (20) in the last ball when Sachin Tendulkar took a brilliant catch. Skipper Ricky Ponting was not out at the other end on one.

Earlier, India declared their second innings at 314 for three wickets in the post-lunch session with Gautam Gambhir (104) scoring his second Test century and Virender Sehwag falling just 10 short of what could have been his 16th Test century.

Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who promoted himself to first down to accelerate the scoring, scored a quick-fire unbeaten 68.

Resuming at the overnight score of 100 for no loss, openers Gambhir and Sehwag (90) scored briskly as India raced to 130 runs in the first session. Sehwag looked good for a century but carelessly edged Peter Siddle to wicketkeeper Brad Haddin to bring an end to the 182-run opening stand.

Gambhir's century came in 138 balls with seven boundaries and one six. It was Gambhir's second Test century and the first at home.

After reaching his century with a four, Gambhir gifted his wicket away when he tried to step down to a flighted delivery off Cameroon White but found Hussey at mid-off.

Veteran Tamil director Sridhar dies

Veteran Tamil director C.V. Sridhar passed away Monday after a brief illness in a private hospital, family sources said. He was 76

His body is kept at his residence here and the last rites will take place Tuesday, family sources said.

Sridhar entered filmdom in the 1950s as a dialogue writer - his play "Raththa Pasam" was converted into a movie.

He debuted as a director with "Kalyaana Parisu" ("Marriage Gift") - the film was commercially and critically a success and since then he never looked back.

In 1961, Sridhar floated production house Chitralaya that launched several new faces including Jayalalitha, who became a rage in south Indian films and also went on to become Tamil Nadu's chief minister.

Some of his hit movies include "Nenjil Or Aalayam" (remade in Hindi as "Dil Ek Mandir") and "Kaadilikka Neramillai" (made as "Pyaar Kiye Jaa" in Hindi).

Sridhar also has the distinction of having introduced Tamil films to shooting locales in Kashmir with Gemini Ganeshan-Vyjayanthimala starrer "Then Nilavu".

Sridhar's films were a combination of emotion, humour, drama, comedy and soulful music.

Apart from Tamil, Sridhar directed movies in Kannada and Telugu as well as Hindi.

Air Arabia to fly all passengers free Oct 28

The airline announced Monday that passengers traveling Oct 28 to any destination on the airline's network will be entitled to a full credit of the fare and surcharges paid.

The offer, however, excludes the government and airport taxes, which are to be borne by the passengers, the Sharjah-headquartered airline said in a statement.

"In celebration of this milestone for Air Arabia, it is a pleasure to announce new special offers and a day of family celebrations so that our customers have the opportunity to join us in marking five years of excellence and growth," Air Arabia chief executive Adel Ali said in the statement.

The offer is valid for all passengers who book their flights for Oct 28 from Monday.

Those who had booked flights for that day will get their money refunded, according to reports in the local media here.

The offer is part of the airline's five-day celebrations, which will start Oct 26 and conclude with a day of celebration and family fun Oct 31 at Qanat Al Qasbaa, a leisure, cultural and tourism destination in Sharjah.

The airline flies to 42 destinations, including 12 in India. The figure will rise to 44 with the introduction of flights to Hyderabad in India and Nairobi in Kenya later this month, the company statement said.

The airline crossed the 10-million passenger mark this year.

Last month, the airline was named the best low-cost airline in the Middle East and Africa at the World Low-Cost Airline Awards in London while Ali was named the low-cost airline 'CEO of the Year'.

Indian IT industry insulated from economic downturn: Nasscom

India's IT industry is insulated from the financial crisis that has hit many economies globally, and companies here have not stopped hiring professionals either, according to a leading IT industry body.

The growth has certainly slowed down as an immediate impact of recession; however, the companies are hiring from campuses for the next quarter, Som Mittal, president of the National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom), told reporters here Monday.

Despite the economic meltdown, companies worldwide have to maintain their back-end operations and the crisis will not affect any existing contracts, he said.

Mittal, however, added: The current situation may have an effect on new contracts.

The Nasscom, along with global accounting firm PriceWaterHouseCoopers, prepared a report, 'Opportunities for Indian IT Industry: Japan', highlighting Japan as an emerging market for Indian companies to invest.

The report, released here Monday, was part of the Nasscom's series of reports on the emerging markets for Indian IT sector.

Although India's annual IT exports to Japan currently stands at less than $2 billion, the ageing population in the island nation and need for skilled manpower provide a huge avenue of growth for Indian companies, Mittal said.

The total Japanese IT services market currently stands at $108.6 billion, out of which offshoring is limited to only 8-10 percent at present. Acute manpower shortage in the Japanese economy gives India the pocket for growth, he said.

He, however, maintained that Japan would not provide an immediate solution to the current economic crisis in the west and its likely repercussions on the Indian IT service industry.

Japan is ideal as a long term investment destination where the benefits will be reaped for the time to come, he said

Countdown to India's mission moon begins

As the countdown for the Wednesday launch of lunar mission Chandrayaan-1 on board the polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV-C11) started early Monday, this spaceport off the Bay of Bengal coast was bustling with activity, excitement and a bit of anxiety.

With the countdown starting at 5.22 a.m., about 1,000 top scientists and technologists are working round-the-clock to send India's first spacecraft mission beyond earth orbit from the picturesque spaceport, located on an island about 80 km from Chennai.

Housing the Satish Dhawan Space Centre of the state-run Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the spaceport is popularly known as SHAR (Sriharikota Range). The rocket-launch station was built in 1971 over an area of 43,360 acres (175 sq km) along a 50-km coastline between Pulicat lake and the blue lagoon.

"Sriharikota was chosen as India's spaceport because of its strategic location, topography, good launch azimuth corridor for space missions, advantages of earth rotation for eastward launches, nearer to the equator and an uninhabited area for safety," SHAR spokesman N. Ravindranath told IANS.

With the state-of-the-art technology for producing solid propellant, processing heavier class solid rocket boosters, the facilities are equipped for testing their flight worthiness.

The first launch pad and the second launch pad are equipped with propellant storage and servicing, integration and launch facilities to meet the requirements of PSLV and GSLV (geo-synchronous satellite launch vehicle). A host of facilities for tracking and real-time flight data processing include range instrumentation.

"The spaceport has best-in-class infrastructure for launching satellites into low earth orbit, polar orbit and geo-stationary transfer orbit. The complex provides complete support for vehicle assembly, fuelling, checkout and launch operations," Ravindranath said.

The various stages of PSLV and GSLV, their sub-systems and the spacecraft are prepared and tested in separate facilities before they are moved to the launch pad for integration. A 76-metre tall mobile service tower (MST) facilitates the vertical integration.

The foldable working platforms of MST provide access to the vehicle for elevations. A massive launch pedestal, made up of steel plates, acts as the base on which the vehicle is integrated. The umbilical tower houses the feed lines for liquid propellants and high-pressure gases, checkout cables and chilled air duct for supplying cool air to the satellite and equipment bay.

"A few hours before the launch of any mission to polar or geo-synchronous orbit, the MST is withdrawn and the vehicle remains on the launch pedestal. The 3,200-tonne MST moves at snail's pace to its parking slot on 32 wheels, eight in each corner, on a twin rail track," Ravindranath explained.

The second launch pad provides redundant facilities for launching operational PSLVs and GSLVs and to have quick turnaround time for more launches. It is being augmented for future launch vehicle configurations such as GSLV-MkIII.

"The launch vehicle is assembled and checked out on a mobile pedestal in the vehicle assembly building and then moved in vertical position to the launch pad on a rail track. The second launch pad is being used for the Chandrayaan mission to reduce pad occupancy and move the vehicle back to the VHB for protection in the event of cyclone warning," Ravindranath pointed out.

Besides launch pads, the spaceport boasts of a high-tech range instrumentation facility comprising tracking, telemetry and tele-command systems. High precision radars track the launch vehicle.

"The tele-command system is used to transmit command to the vehicle. If the vehicle malfunctions and deviates from the trajectory beyond the acceptable limits, the range safety officer terminates the flight using the telecommand," the official affirmed.

As the heart of the spaceport, the mission control centre (MCC), situated about six km from the launch complex, coordinates and conducts the launch operations during the countdown phase and till the injection of the satellite into its designated orbit.

The MCC is linked to all the ground stations through communication links for voice and data transmission. The launch preparations on the vehicle are monitored from the MCC using a multi-channel closed-circuit television system," Ravindranath noted.

Of the 2,600-plus people employed to operate the spaceport, about 700 are scientists and technologists. A township has been built on the island, surrounded by the sea on the east and backwaters on the other three sides.

Jamshedpur court sends warrant for Raj Thackeray

A day after his supporters attacked non-Maharashtrians appearing for a railway exam here, Mumbai Police Monday received a non-bailable arrest warrant against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray issued by a Jamshedpur court.

The MNS chief's lawyers also rushed to Ranchi to move the Jharkhand High Court for anticipatory bail, a MNS official said.

The warrant against Thackeray had been issued by the Jamshedpur court three weeks ago for his alleged defamatory utterances against Biharis. The case, filed by a lawyer Hamed Razaa Khan, also accused Thackeray of hurting religious sentiments of a particular section of the society.

Thackeray has been ordered by the court to personally appear before it Nov 17 for a hearing. Thackeray is currently on a tour of Pune, Nashik and Malegaon and will reach Mumbai Thursday, his aides said.

The Jamshedpur court warrant is likely to be executed by the Shivaji Park police station. Thackeray's residence is located in its jurisdiction.

Despite repeated attempts, top police officials in Mumbai remained unavailable for comment.

Sachin Tendulkar passed Brian Lara as the leading scorer in Test match history today, giving the Indian several of cricket's major run-getting records and reinforcing his iconic status in his home country.

The 35-year-old Tendulkar hit a Peter Siddle delivery for three in the second Test against Australia in Mohali to lift his run tally in five-day Tests above the mark of 11,953 set by retired West Indies captain Lara. The milestone by the 5-foot-5 Tendulkar, nicknamed the ``Little Master,'' prompted a several minute delay of crowd celebrations and fireworks.

Tendulkar, who made his debut against archrival Pakistan as a 16-year-old, already has amassed a world record 39 centuries in Test cricket and the most runs (16,361) and hundreds (42) in one- day internationals. He went on to score 88 before becoming debutant Siddle's first Test victim just before play ended for the day. Tendulker pushed at a full-pitched ball and edged to Matthew Hayden at first slip.

``I was trying to focus on the game, but every now and then the people around me made it a point to remind me,'' Tendulker said on Sky Sports 1. ``It's taken me almost 19 years and they've been ups and downs. It's a great feeling.''

Indian finished the day at 311-5, with Sourav Ganguly on 54 and Ishant Sharma on 2.

With a batting style founded on balance, precision and anticipation, Tendulkar's mastery of an array of strokes has enabled him to accumulate runs at an average of 54.10 per Test innings in all conditions and in any country.

Bradman Similarities

That's the highest average by any Indian who played more than 20 Tests and 21st in a list headed by the late Donald Bradman. With an average of 99.94, Bradman once remarked that Tendulkar reminded him of himself.

Tendulkar has scored more runs against Australia, the dominant force during his career, than any other team. Almost a quarter of his Test centuries came against the top-ranked Australians.

Mumbai-born Tendulkar registered his first three-figure score in Tests against England at Manchester in 1990 when aged 17 and racked up 16 Test hundreds by the age of 25.

His achievements in the sport's long and short forms made him an idol in cricket-crazy India. He signed a three-year marketing contract with Saatchi & Saatchi Plc in 2006 worth $40 million, Indian media reported.

Shane Warne, Australia's leading Test wicket-taker, wrote in a Times of London column that the only way to appreciate the scrutiny and adulation heaped on Tendulkar was to watch India play at home.

Crowd Favorite

``Outside grounds, people wait until he goes in before paying to enter,'' wrote Warne, who ranked Tendulkar No. 1 of the top 100 players of his era. ``They seem to want a wicket to fall even though it is their own side that will suffer. This is cricket as Sachin has known it since the age of 16.''

Tendulkar today completed a rise to the top of the run list that began a week after the Berlin Wall came down and that lost momentum in the past year because of knee and groin injuries and indifferent form. He averaged just 13.57 in his seven innings prior to this Test series.

Australia captain Ricky Ponting and Indian teammate Rahul Dravid are the only other active players to have scored more than 10,000 Test runs. Lara, who has the record for the highest Test innings of 400 not out, retired from international cricket in April 2007.

Napoleon Bonaparte's (1769-1821) was born in Corsica. He became an army officer in 1785, and after rapid promotion, took command of the army of the interior in 1795. After a coup in 1799, Napoleon became first consul, and in 1804 emperor. Between 1804 and 1810 he consolidated his empire in Europe. In 1814, following defeat in Russia, he abdicated and was banished to Elba. In 1815 he resumed power, but was crushed at the Battle of Waterloo and exiled to St. Helena, where he died in 1821.

Napolean Bonaparte's Love letter

In addition to being a brilliant military mind and feared ruler, Napolean Bonaparte (1763 - 1821) was a prolific writer of letters. He reportedly wrote as many as 75,000 letters in his lifetime, many of them to his beautiful wife, Josephine, both before and during their marriage. This letter, written just prior to their 1796 wedding, shows surprising tenderness and emotion from the future emperor.
